Catching up: January & February

Parker earned a spot on the honor roll last semester,
and was recognized for academic achievement in Social Studies at his school.
He was "so embarrassed" about the recognition of scholastic achievement
for a class that (allegedly) he does not like.
We were beaming with pride, just the same.

Too cool with those neon green laces, I tell ya.
All smiles after we went out for frozen yogurt to celebrate, though!

On Feb. 18, I participated in my first race:
a 5k to benefit the Virginia Hemophilia Foundation.
It was a blast! Parker and Jeremy were there to cheer me on.
I didn't fall down, or finish last, or stop to walk.
I didn't make a fool or myself or anything. Whoo!

This semester I started teaching an advertising class at VCU.

It's SO WEIRD, because it doesn't feel all that weird...
it must be all those years of practice, bossing around my younger siblings.
It's very rewarding to teach the class and mentor the students
as they figure out what to make of the advertising program.

This winter has been kind of a joke: it's been in the 60s pretty much since November.
But we did get one freak snowstorm.
Jeremy and Parker took the opportunity to create tortured snowmen,
as is their tradition.
It's hilarious to watch people drive by and do a double-take,
or look really confused about just what is happening in our yard.

Catching up: Christmas

A little late....but here are some Christmas photos!
Delirious with Christmas morning excitement
The exciting stuff: a table saw for Jeremy,
a sewing machine and Garmin GPS watch for me,
a Playstation 3 for Parker.

Time to eat! Jeremy looks excited!
 MMMMMM....yes, that is asparagus
