Switching back...

Since I've changed the blog to private, it seems as though far fewer people are viewing it. I've changed it back to public for your viewing pleasure, so kick back, relax, and check out all the posts you may have missed this month, and don't forget to comment!

It's happening...

The tree in the front yard
is the first to catch autumn's fire.

Busch Gardens

Jeremy sweet-talked a Hershey's client
into giving us 3 free day passes
to Busch Gardens, worth $183.
Seriously, why people go in the
summer when the lines are super
long and they are melting in the heat,
I'll never know. It was 74 yesterday
and there were short lines.
I can't ride this one, it makes me ill.
Only took me two previous visits
to figure that out.
Just the three of us!

Taken before riding the Griffon,
the world's tallest roller coaster.

205 feet high, 90-degree angle....straight down.
Enough to make you poop your pants.

Oh but look how much he enjoyed it!
Kinda wish we had one of these.
Look how useful they are
for containing troublesome boys!

This is a 10-year-old's bathroom

If I don't venture into Parker's
bathroom every day or so,
I will find things like this.
Notice the hand towel has been
removed in favor of a more
entertaining item.
What exactly is the dysfunction with kids
and their toothpaste?
I think he has been looking
for those pants for about 2 days.

Shoulda listened to his mom....

What happens when you don't
pull out a loose baby tooth?
It re-tightens and gets pushed
into a bad place by the adult tooth.
Parker had to have it pulled today.
In case Rachel is wondering, it was #D.
He also had sealants put on.
Apparently the dentist has really
cool toys in the Treasure Chest, though.
And yeah....it looks like he's gonna need braces....

Madness and mayhem

You know trouble when you see it.
Parker's birthday party- they only LOOK harmless.Quiet hours were finally observed
from 1 am to 6:30 a.m.

5th Graders Rock

The first day of school- it's the
last "first day" of his elementary years.

Petapalooza

Introducing Max & Sam, Parker's new pets.
They are Sandfish; a species of Skink.
They are pretty darn cute, too!
We brought them home on Saturday,
but today they finally sprang to life!
Due to the graphic cricket-eating
nature of these videos,
viewer discretion is advised.

Janell's 30th (gulp) birthday

Yeah, so I'm finally 30!
There are too many witnesses
to deny it any longer.

All the gifts helped to ease the pain!

Jeremy will use any excuse to spoil me-
this time he did it with sapphires and diamonds.
"He went to Jared!!" is now the
running joke about my birthday.

Sweet/Awesome

Parker celebrated 10 years yesterday!
We had a birthday dinner with
Aaron, Teresa, Katie & Lily.
Back at home, he was ready to
rip into some birthday gifts!

Jeremy's Birthday

I was a little surprised that for his
birthday dinner, Jeremy just wanted pizza.
A thin-crust veggie-lover's with beef.

Nothing says "happy birthday" like banana cream pie!

Birthday Celebray-shuns!!

Last weekend we had a joint birthday
party to celebrate our mutual aging.
Our friends were there to mourn with us.
They didn't seem all that mournful, however.

It's funny how hearing the "Happy Birthday"
song never gets old, even after
it's been sung to you 30 times!
