Graduation!

It finally arrived: GRADUATION DAY!!!

My friends Scott & Diane came over to give me a graduation gift and wish me well.
Mom & Dad surprised me with a banner and roses!
This is Jeremy's stole of gratitude- I presented it to him to acknowledge the sacrifices that he's made over the last 4 years to help me reach my goals. He wore it to the ceremony.
Just the girls!
A VERY proud Mom!
VCU School of Mass Communications Graduation ceremony!!
My awesome family endured a loong wait. Josh hadn't slept well and caught some shut-eye waiting for the action to start. Parker and Addie entertained each other.
I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!!
Getting ready to receive my diploma!!
The happy grad and her awesome supportive parents (all of them!) My mom is holding an award that the faculty surprised me with at the ceremony. It's like a student of the year award. I was chosen to receive this award among all the Creative Advertising students. I had to walk up onto the stage in front of about one thousand people and luckily, I did not fall down or otherwise make a fool of myself. My mom was yelling her guts out and pushing people out of the way to take pictures. Good times!

My cute boys!

My gorgeous diploma!

Free at last!!

I made it!

I'm done!!! Last Thursday was my last day as a creative advertising student at VCU. Thank you again to everyone sending me congratulations, cards, emails, kind wishes. I couldn't have made it without all of you supporting me, offering advice, and just listening to me vent my frustrations. Graduation is a week from today, and I'm so excited to have my families there with me! I love you guys! Thanks for putting up with the madness for four looooong years!

Parker is a Copywriter

Parker created this poster yesterday, and I noticed he had written a "headline" for it.
"Cars aren't just machines. They're your life."
Perhaps he's also looking into a career as a copywriter?

Tea Party

On Tax Day, tens of thousands of Americans gathered in various cities across the nation to protest the government's wasteful spending-- specifically, this so-called "stimulus" bill that our elected representatives failed to read. Many others also spoke out against the government's seemingly unstoppable appetite for power under the guise of fixing our nation's problems.
Richmond's Tea Party was downtown, where the rain turned Kanawa Plaza into a mud pie.
It didn't stop 4,000 people from standing shoulder to shoulder though.
It was a great event, and very touching to see so many people getting off their couch and fighting the traffic downtown to play an active role in their political lives. There were men, women, and children from varying socio-economic backgrounds and political creeds present. It's a shame the media made light of this event, and that so many others weren't aware of it. But those who are up for re-election next year were paying attention, I'm sure....

Piano Performance

So I've been dying to perform musically lately and I have absolutely no outlet for it. Under the guise of letting all of you hear what my new/very old piano sounds like, here are a few clips. The first one is just some improvised arpeggios, and the next is from "Fantasy in D minor" by Mozart.

Andy's Bachelor Party - Vegas '09

I took a trip to Vegas the first weekend in April for Andy's bachelor party. We played it pretty mellow and did a lot of tourist stuff. I did get to spend some time playing blackjack, roulette, and poker. Andy and I took first and second place (I so let him win) in a poker tournament which put $200 back in my pocket. :) It was great to get back to Vegas again. Yay for vacations!!
